It! Party to GO!

Evening on Antique Row to benefit Historical Society of Palm Beach County is one of our favorite events to work on each year. More than 2,000 guests descend upon West Palm Beach's famed Antique Row art, design and antique district for food, wine, music and after-hours shopping in the local boutiques.
This year, It! Weddings & Events was invited to create an event within the event, which we dubbed our It! Party to GO! The setup allowed us to partner with some of our favorite Palm Beach vendors, including Atlas Party Rentals, Bulletproof Wine & Spirits, Regency Party Rentals, Salon Margrit, Tom Mathieu & Co. and Cafe Boulud Palm Beach. We also had the opportunity to work with new partners like Jemma Coleman Photography and Globadyne Productions.
As a bonus, our beautiful friends signed up to model the latest from Lazaro, Amsale and Jennifer Leigh bridal couture, courtesy of our new best friend Jack at Boca Raton Bridal & Consultants! Here are a few of our favorite pics from the evening:

Save the Date: Dec. 3, Festival of Trees Gala Opening!

One of our favorite Palm Beach events each year is the Festival of Trees to benefit Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens. With more than 30 designer Christmas trees, Christmas carolers, a holiday boutique and more, it is just what we need to get us in the holiday spirit here in balmy South Florida — the delicious noshes and open bar during the Gala Opening doesn't hurt, either!

Festival of Trees kicks off with its annual Gala Opening on Friday, Dec. 3, and benefits the garden's Community Enrichment Program, designed to provide cultural opportunities to all populations through innovative programming incorporating the visual arts, environmental awareness and interpretive history of Ann Weaver Norton.

The Gala Opening will Feature GREY GOOSE Vodka by Bacardi U.S.A. West Boca Raton High School Choir, Palm Beach Atlantic University’s Stringendo School For Strings, BAK Middle School of the Arts Chorus, the Florida Classical Ballet Theatre and Palm Beach Atlantic University’s “Brass 5” are set to perform.

Family and friends of all ages are invited to the gala, with tickets available for $200 for adults (ANSG members $125) and $25 per child. Gentlemen of the Garden will present Community Days with $15 admission (children $5) Dec. 4 and 5 and Dec. 8-12.

The Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens, Inc. is a recognized 501(c)3 operating foundation established in 1977 by the prominent sculptor Ann Weaver Norton (1905-1982). The gardens are conveniently located at 253 Barcelona Road, at the corner of Flagler Drive in West Palm Beach, FL. The rare palm and sculpture gardens, exhibition galleries and artist studio are currently open Wednesday-Sunday. 11- 4 p.m.

Belle & Maxwell's expands, adds open kitchen and dinner menu

Belle & Maxwell’s, a popular restaurant located on the famed Antique Row in West Palm Beach, underwent a complete expansion and renovation in early July 2010, doubling to 1,800 square feet to seat up to 70 guests.

An oft-selected venue for celebrations such as birthday parties, ladies’ luncheons and baby and bridal showers, the restaurant is available for private parties and catering. All of its coffees, specialty teas, scented soaps, jewelry made by local designers, cookbooks and hostess gifts are for sale. Its signature pies and cakes can be also purchased for parties and holidays.

A new open kitchen, a coffee and wine bar and two new restrooms complete the expansion. And beginning Aug. 17, Belle & Maxwell’s will also be open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday. In September, Sunday breakfast and brunch menus will be added.

“The focus has always been on using the freshest produce and ingredients,” said Executive Chef Michael Hackman.

Named for the original owner’s two dogs, Belle & Maxwell’s began as a traditional teahouse and cafe in 1995, offering an assortment of special teas from around the world and mostly vegan breakfast and lunch menus. In 2004, when proprietor Michelle Taylor assumed ownership, she added non-vegetarian items to the already successful repertoire of homemade soups, salads, quiches, chef-made sandwiches and desserts.

Belle & Maxwell’s is located at 3700 South Dixie Highway in West Palm Beach.
